Concrete Care Guide
Concrete is strong, but a little care goes a long way in keeping it looking its best. Follow these simple guidelines best appearance and longevity:
Don’t cut on them. Use cutting boards. Penetrating the sealer leaves the concrete susceptible to staining agents and bacteria.
Clean with damp cloths, soap, and towel dry. Abrasive cleansers and scrubbers should not be used such as Comet, Brillo pads, and scrubbing pads of the like.
Set things down, don’t drag them. Sliding a mug like a 1950’s bartender is no big deal, but large & heavier items with sand or dirt under them can scratch the surface.
Coasters are recommended. Vapor pressure under a wet glass/can could cause a water ring to develop. It will fade away as the water evaporates but could take days to months.
Wipe up spills as they happen. Citric acid from fruits is the leading cause of etching. If margaritas are your thing, be aware of where your lime juice lands.
Hot pads or trivets are recommended. Concrete can microcrack if exposed to high heat (over 400 degrees).
